How do I respond (RSVP) to a volunteer opportunity?
Some volunteer opportunities require specific qualifications before you can participate. Each opportunity will list the required qualifications and instructions for completing them. Examples include online or in-person training, certifications, background checks, or driver record checks. If qualifications are required, the volunteer coordinator will contact you to let you know once you have been approved.
Follow the step-by-step instructions here.
Do all volunteers have to sign a volunteer waiver form to participate?
Yes! Every volunteer must digitally sign the SCDNR Regular Service Volunteer Agreement before participating. Volunteers cannot participate until the waiver has been signed. The waiver is completed when you create your volunteer account. The software will also send an annual reminder to renew your digital waiver.
Under age 18?
Make sure you meet the age requirement listed for the volunteer opportunity. Every opportunity includes a minimum age requirement.
To filter opportunities by age:
Click Opportunities > Filter By > Age- enter the volunteer's age to view matching opportunities.
A parent or legal guardian must digitally sign the Minor Volunteer Waiver before a minor may volunteer. After the minor creates an account, they will be prompt to put parent or legal guardian email address. Parent or legal guardian will receive an email requesting a digital signature from no-reply@galaxydigital.com, subject line, "SCDNR Volunteer Minor Waiver Form Needs Guardian's Signature". Please look in spam or junk mail box.
Under age 13?
Federal regulations require children under the age of 13 to receive parental or legal guardian consent before using volunteer software.
First, the child must create a volunteer account. We recommend using the child's personal email address, if available. After entering their birth date, the system will prompt them to enter a parent or legal guardian's email address. This email address must be different from the one used to create the child's account.
The parent or legal guardian will receive an email requesting digital consent within 30 days from email address no-reply@galaxydigital.com. If consent is not provided within that time, the account will be automatically deleted.
How do I sign up my team to volunteer?
Click “Respond As Team” to an opportunity that has that option. If you don’t see that as an option that means that opportunity isn’t accepting team signups.
The team leader must first create a volunteer account and then create a team.
Every team must have a designated team leader. The software will prompt you to select the team leader's name.
Once the team has been created, the team leader should share the “Copy Join Link” with all team members so they can join.
Follow the step-by-step instructions here.
How do I join my team?
Click the link sent to you by your team leader.
If you did not receive a specific link, contact your team leader or the designated SCDNR staff member listed in the volunteer opportunity. Either can send you the link directly.
Follow the step-by-step instructions here.
